KORANET kick-off meeting

KORANET, an ERA-NET with Korea, was officially launched during a kick-off meeting in Bonn/Germany on 16-17 February 2009. The project is coordinated by the International Bureau of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and is funded under the 7th Research Framework Programme of the European Community.
Around 35 participants - project partners, representatives of national ministries and the European Commission as well as several interested observers - attended the kick-off meeting.

The kick-off meeting started with an introduction to EU-Korean international cooperation in S&T and the ERA-NET scheme and was followed by a presentation of the Korean S&T system. The biggest part of the meeting was devoted to a detailed discussion of all work packages of the project. Specific roles and tasks of the project partners were clarified, administrative and management procedures were discussed and the work plan for the next 18 months was specified.
