Industrialised Countries Instrument Education Cooperation Programme with Korea (ICI ECP) - application deadline: 15 September 2009

The purpose of this call is to support international curriculum development projects that involve balanced short term student and faculty mobility between the EU and the Korea as a partner ICI countries. Its objective is to promote transparency, mutual recognition of qualifications and periods of study, research and training, and portability of credits. Applicant consortia must comprise of at least 3 Higher Education and/or vocational institutions from 3 different EU Member States and at least 2 institutions from Korea. Selected consortia will set up a framework for student mobility whereby EU students will typically spend one semester in the Korean institution and vice versa with full recognition of the study period abroad by the home institution.

It is anticipated that three to four EU- Korea projects will be funded. The European partner institutions in each selected Joint Mobility project will be funded from the EU side with a maximum amount of EUR 425,000 over a 3-year period. The authorities in Korea will provide additional funding to their national institutions in the selected projects. EU funding will include mobility grants for students and faculty members, as well as flat rates/fixed amounts for administering the project.
